The words echoed through the young teenage boy's ears like a thunderstorm. He winced, staring through the blizzard cutting its path through the northern forest. Summer never came to this place. As it stood, it was mid-winter, bringing temperatures too harsh for a man to endure without proper provisioning. But endure this boy did. He stared at the accompanying figure of the tall, stocky man who had addressed him. The voice of the one he recognized as 'father'. Snow stung the boy's eye, causing him to shudder and wince once more .
